Action Aid’s “Communicating Real Zero” project will develop communications materials, build civil society capacity, shift narratives and increase pressure for ambitious, socially-just and equitable climate transitions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions to “real” zero.
The project will help new audiences and stakeholders in Denmark, the Netherlands and Europe to understand why careful scrutiny of government and corporate “net zero” targets is needed, and that the “net” should not be used to disguise a lack of action, long delays, or unrealistic and dangerous reliance on carbon offsets from unproven technologies and tree plantations that could drive land grabs in the global South.
